Sailing on Lake Jindabyne

This is an image taken on Lake Kindabyne next to the Snowline Caravan Park. You too can experience the exhilaration and excitement of flowing along with quick winds aboard a windsurfer or one of our catamarans. Both 14' and 16' Hobie Cats and sailboards are available for tuition or hire.

Walking and Hiking tours

Their experience will take you on a Alpine Sunset and Sunrise Walk, or a Brumbie walk, or under the Starlight to various places such as Blue Lake and Mt Twynam, the Kosciuszko Summit, the Snowy River Headwaters, or The Sentinel and the Western Fells.

Boat Hire

Hire our open and half cabin fishing boats which have 9.9 hp motor, 2 way radio, rod holders, seat 5 or 6 adults, great for exploring. Also available is a 5m Marlin Broadbill a deluxe fishing boat, the best fishing boat on the lake. Water ski with our experienced driver. All equipment is provided and children as young as 8 or as old as 80 years of age can try. Hire paddle boats, aqua bikes and Canadian style canoes. Fishing tackle is for hire. We also stock an extensive range of tackle, lures and live bait. Hit up on our tennis court, a modern of super grass surface with lights.

The Kosciuszko National Park is the heart of Australia's Snowy Mountains, it is not only the country's highest National Park, its also one of the largest. Its diverse area protects and supports plant and animal life. More than three million people visit the park each year to explore its special wilderness and to take part in activities ranging from bush walking, mountain biking, snow skiing, caving and camping.

Thredbo Alpine Village

Alpine Way, Kosciuszko National Park.
Thredbo has heaps of activities for all ages and tastes. Guided walks to Mt Kosciuszko starting with chairlift ride are very popular and a great introduction to the Snowy Mountains. Specialised childrens activity programmes during holiday periods are another must. Have a swim in our indoor heated pool, with waterslide for the kids. Ride the Thredbo Bobsled or drive a golf ball. Cling to our climbing wall, it is horizontal so is not scary, play tennis or squash. Multi-day Activity Packages are available.

 
Snowy Mountains Horse Riding

Alpine Way, via Jindabyne. One, two and three hour rides on horses to suit all rider standards. Overnight and day rides also available by booking only. Catering for small exclusive groups or large groups. Only five minutes from Skitube towards Jindabyne. Open all year round.

Kosciuszko Walk

Walking to Mount Kosciuszko is one of the "must do" activities when visiting the mountains. Walking from either the top of the Thredbo chairlift or from Charlottes pass is a return distance of about 14km and is easily within the capabilities of most reasonably fit people. Be cautious with the weather and take plenty of bad weather clothing in case of sudden weather changes which happen very often and very quickly.

Wildlife

At Silvertop we have a large resident population of Eastern Grey kangaroos, Bennett’s wallabies, echidnas, hairy nosed wombats and there are occasionally sightings of emus and brumbies. With the Kosciuszko National Park close by you have the opportunity for all sorts of “wild” life experiences – the staff at the park are happy to help

 
Swimming

Whether it be a cold mountain stream, a heated indoor pool, or Lake Jindabyne itself, there are lots of opportunities to enjoy a refreshing swim.

 
Motorcycling

One motorcycling journalist put it this way, “If you wanted to create a road bike playground, the Snowy Mountains would be the template.” This region has some of Australia’s best motorcycling routes, and combined with the scenery, the unique features of the area and the ambience of Silvertop, provides a wonderful way to travel.
